CREATE AN INFLUENCER MEDIA KIT + TEMPLATE

So you are looking at building a career as a content creator or you are looking to figure out ways to “cold call” brands more effectively. An incredible tool that is often missed when creators are reaching out to different companies to work with, is a media kit. The media kit is your personal brand’s “pitch deck.” It’s something that brands can look at quickly and see exactly what you are about! Think of your influencer media kit as your business card, CV, and portfolio of work all in one document.

Whether you’re a blogger, vlogger, photographer, or videographer, you want to have a document that represents all the work you’ve done, your achievements, and where you’d like to grow in your influencer career.

Some Key Areas To Have!

#1 Your Bio

It’s the first thing a brand or business is going to read when they open your media kit, so you want to make sure that it fully represents you and your brand. You want to convey your personal tone and style in your bio copy, and show off your personality, interests, and passion projects.

#2 Highlight your key analytics

What best represents where your audience engages the most? Majority of your audience is on Instagram and you don't ever use Twitter? Make sure to showcase Instagram more. It is important to keep your numbers tight and descriptive to what shows ENGAGEMENT the most.

#3 Showcase ideas

If you are looking to work for a specific brand, add an extra page to create some possible posts or activation ideas that you would do for them. One thing often missed when pitching to brands is the question of “What will you do for us?” A simple way of getting rid of this question and making those meetings short, is by including a unique page to each brand you are pitching too about what exactly you would do content wise if everything was left up to you. Companies are looking for personality!

#4 Your Past Work

Like a resume, include anything interesting that you have done for brands in the past (even if it wasn't a deal). Again personality trumps analytics when it comes down to selecting.

#5 Be Direct

Everything you want to achieve should be included and tailormade to the specific brand outreach. That way that first meeting is as easy as signing on the dotted line!

TEMPLATE

This is a rough idea of what your kit should include and a basic layout! It’s best to use Photoshop or Illustrator for high quality kits but online tools like Canva are great if you are looking for something simple!
